Our 3v3 Developmental League is designed for players in Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd grade to learn the fundamental skills of basketball while having fun and developing a love for the game. The league is geared towards the new or inexperienced player, which creates a great jumping off point for young children to not only learn the game, but fall in love with the game of basketball.
Each session lasts an hour and consists of skill development, a lesson from one of our GABL Game Managers, and a 3-on-3 game in which players have the opportunity to apply the skills they have learned. Teams are based on elementary school, gender, and grade. Teams are generally composed of 6 players in order to provide each player equal playing time. If too many or too few players register individually from one school, they will be combined with players from other elementary schools. All teams will use a 27.5" ball and hoops are lowered to 8-foot goals
.
We accept team and individual registrations. Teams are coached by a volunteer coach.
Teams are gender- and grade-based, not age-based. No coed teams.
All players receive a jersey and a participation award.
Sessions are one-hour in length and include both instruction and competition.
Games will be played at various locations within the Shawnee Mission and Olathe school districts.
