1ST-7TH GRADE 5-ON-5

The GABL Winter League offers youth basketball opportunities for boys and girls in 1st through 7th grade, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and competition in a fun, structured environment.

For 1st through 3rd graders, the Advanced 5-on-5 format provides an excellent introduction to full-court basketball. Teams consist of at least eight players and receive 10 games (No Post-Season) Uniforms are provided for these younger divisions, and simplified rules are used to help players learn the fundamentals of the game in a supportive setting.

The 4th through 7th grade program is designed for more advanced play while still emphasizing development and sportsmanship. Teams in these age groups are scheduled for 11 to 12 games, plus 12 to 13 practice sessions. These divisions also include a postseason tournament in late February and early March. Uniforms are not provided for 4th–7th grade teams. Instead, coaches must order jerseys.

Pre-formed teams are welcome in both divisions, and individual players can register to be placed on available teams. Volunteer coaches are essential to the league’s success, and those interested can apply during the registration process.
