Derek Majors, a long-time volunteer with GABL and the GABL Youth Sports Foundation, passed away on April 13, 2026. Derek was involved with GABL for over 25 years, serving in a variety of capacities, including coach, official, area director, tryout coordinator, board member, commissioner, and finally as president of the foundation. He was instrumental in the establishment of the 1st and 2nd grade advanced league, served as the first Chairman of the GABL Honors Program, and was inducted into the GABL Court of Honor in 2013. His leadership was influential to the success of GABL and the many initiatives put in place during his tenure. GABL is a better organization because of Derek’s involvement.
